This section is aimed at any individual who may be providing support to another individual/student, and more specifically, for self-harm.

As part of our research, we have spent time working alongside students with personal experiences of self-harm, as well as those directly supporting them. Many of those providing support (including friends, family members, colleagues etc) often had very different backgrounds, experience and level of training/knowledge around self-harm.

We have put together information based on all of these experiences, and hope that some of the information within this section will be helpful and relevant to you. This section is mainly aimed at the importance of looking after yourself, and what may be helpful to ensure that you are also supported within your role.
